Curriculum And Programs

Infant

6 Weeks – 12 Months

Infants are rapidly growing, learning, and changing. Between the cooing and cuddling, our teachers delight in your baby’s every advancement and provide endless opportunities for development and discovery.

From rocking and thoughtful interaction to story time, nap time, talking, and singing, Village Early Learning Center teachers provide just what your baby needs in a safe, clean, healthy environment.

Toddler

12 – 23 Months

Toddlers are little busybodies. At The Village Early Learning Center, that’s okay. We balance individual attention with group activities, ensuring that your toddler is using all that energy in productive ways. From trying out the playground equipment to experimenting with art, we give toddlers plenty of opportunities to investigate, explore and play in a safe, secure, yet stimulating environment.

Toddler teachers consider the unique emotional needs of each child while promoting good social skills and learning. In accordance with our nationally recognized accreditation (naeyc.org), new concepts are introduced when your child is ready; not on a set timeline.

Twaddlers

24 – 36 Months

There’s nothing β€œterrible” about two year olds – they’re just beginning to test their independence, influence and control. At this age, children are making huge strides, and our specially designed program provides thoughtful guidance along with the independence they crave.

Our curriculum is designed to nurture all the different ways that children learn – from building an architectural masterpiece to creating an interpretive dance.

Young Preschool

30 – 36 Months

As a Young Preschool student, your child is transitioning from a Twaddler to a preschool student. Chatting with friends increases verbal and social skills. Solving shape puzzles strengthens problem-solving skills and art experiences nurture creativity. Young Preschool teachers work to foster self-esteem during one-on-one journal time and in group activities. Learning experiences are customized to meet the needs and abilities of each child, so children feel proud of their accomplishments and are motivated to learn more.

Preschool

3 – 4 Years

Preschoolers are natural researchers! Teachers in the Preschool classroom serve as co-researchers with their young students, setting up provocations that help students develop their own understanding of how the world works. Teachers in the classroom document the progress of the students and share anecdotes, photos, and videos of classroom activities with parents through the Brightwheel parent communication app. Our exclusive Village Early Learning Center curriculum encourages exploration and embraces all the different ways that children excel. Aligned with standards set forth by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC), our Reggio-Emilia inspired teaching strategies help children develop their own unique gifts.

Pre-Kindergarten / VPK Program

4 -5 Years

The Village Early Learning Center has been a leader in Florida’s Voluntary Pre-Kindergarten initiative since the Florida VPK program was implemented in 2002. At The Village ELC, PreK students acquire a strong foundation of skills on which they build their future academic success. Building upon the basics, students are consistently presented with new opportunities and challenges that encourage social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development and ensure that they are well-equipped for success when they enter kindergarten.

Village PreK students learn from credentialed teachers in a spacious and engaging environment. Beyond the classroom, students expand their creativity and hone their problem-solving skills as they enjoy generous outdoor play areas, learn from a professional art teacher in an outdoor art studio, and develop a love for nature in garden classrooms. Enrichment activities, such as soccer and computer coding classes are available to students that attend our half and full-day prekindergarten / VPK programs.
